Eligibility Criteria for Different Categories

The degree must have been obtained on or after 01st April 2021, meaning candidates who passed out between 2021 and 2025 are eligible. The minimum percentage of marks required is 60 percent and above for General, OBC, and EWS category candidates, and 50 percent and above for SC and ST category candidates. Candidates must not have more than one year of work experience in private organizations. Maximum age limit is 25 years as on 01.01.2026, with relaxations of 5 years for SC and ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities. For Technician Diploma Apprentices, candidates must have completed a full-time regular Diploma in Engineering in ECE or Mechanical from a DOTE or AICTE recognized institution, with the diploma obtained on or after 01.04.2021. Percentage requirements are 60 percent for General, OBC, and EWS, and 50 percent for SC and ST. Age limit is 25 years with category-wise relaxations. For Optional Apprentices with B.Com, BBA, or BBM degrees, candidates must have completed their degree from a UGC recognized university on or after 01.04.2021. Minimum 50 percent marks required for all categories. Age limit is 25 years with relaxations. For ITI Apprentices, candidates must have completed ITI certification in Electronics Mechanic, Fitter, or Electrician trade from an NCVT or SCVT recognized ITI. Maximum age for ITI apprentices is 21 years. Important conditions include that candidates must be from Southern Region only covering Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, and Pondicherry. Candidates who have undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship training under NATS or NAPS in any other establishment are not eligible. Candidates who have acquired or are pursuing higher qualifications including integrated PG courses are not eligible. Candidates must be registered on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal and provide their NATS registration number.

Stipend Structure and Benefits

Selected apprentices will receive attractive monthly stipends during the one-year training period. Graduate Apprentices with B.E or B.Tech degrees will receive Rs. 17,500 per month. Technician Diploma Apprentices will receive Rs. 12,500 per month. Optional Apprentices with B.Com, BBA, or BBM degrees will receive Rs. 12,500 per month. ITI Apprentices will receive Rs. 11,040 per month. These stipend amounts are competitive and help apprentices meet their living expenses while gaining valuable training and experience. The stipends are paid regularly on a monthly basis directly to the apprentice's bank account. Apart from the stipend, apprentices also get access to subsidized canteen facilities on chargeable basis, which helps in reducing daily expenses. However, accommodation facilities and conveyance allowances are not provided, and apprentices need to arrange their own stay and transportation.

Walk-in Selection Process and Schedule

BEL Chennai is conducting a walk-in selection process for this apprenticeship recruitment. The walk-in interviews are scheduled on three different dates based on disciplines. On 05th February 2026 Wednesday at 09:30 AM, Diploma Apprentices in ECE and Mechanical, B.Com, BBA, and BBM Apprentices, and ITI Apprentices in all trades should attend. On 06th February 2026 Thursday at 09:30 AM, B.E or B.Tech Graduate Apprentices in Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering disciplines should attend. On 07th February 2026 Friday at 09:30 AM, B.E or B.Tech Graduate Apprentices in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering disciplines should attend. Reporting time for all dates is 09:30 AM sharp. Candidates must report at the venue well before the scheduled time as entry may be closed after reporting time. The walk-in interviews will be conducted at BEL Chennai Complex located at Nandambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The exact venue and reporting point within the complex will be clearly indicated through signboards and guidance staff at the main gate. Candidates are advised to reach the venue well in advance to avoid any last-minute rush. BEL Chennai is well-connected by public transport including local buses and suburban trains. The nearest railway station is Meenambakkam on the Chennai Beach to Tambaram suburban line. From the railway station, the BEL campus is easily accessible by auto-rickshaw or local transport. For candidates coming from other cities, Chennai Airport is approximately 15 kilometers away, and the Chennai Central Railway Station and Egmore Railway Station are the main railheads for long-distance trains. Documents Required for Walk-in

Candidates attending the walk-in must bring the following documents in original along with one set of self-attested photocopies. Date of Birth proof such as SSLC or 10th standard certificate or birth certificate. Educational qualification certificates and mark sheets including B.E or B.Tech degree certificate and all semester mark sheets for graduate apprentices, Diploma certificate and all semester mark sheets for diploma apprentices, B.Com, BBA, or BBM degree certificate and all semester mark sheets for optional apprentices, and ITI trade certificate and mark sheets for ITI apprentices. Provisional certificate if original degree or diploma certificate is not yet received. Community or Caste certificate issued by competent authority for SC, ST, or OBC candidates. EWS certificate for EWS category candidates if applicable. Disability certificate for PwBD candidates if applicable. NATS portal registration number or screenshot of NATS registration. Valid email ID and active mobile number. Recent passport-size color photographs at least 5 copies. Aadhaar card for identity proof. Failure to produce any of the above original documents may lead to rejection of candidature. Candidates should organize all documents systematically in a file folder for easy presentation during document verification.

Registration on NATS Portal

All candidates must compulsorily register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme portal at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in before attending the walk-in. The NATS registration number is a mandatory requirement for apprenticeship engagement as per Government of India regulations. To register, candidates need to visit the portal, click on Register, select Apprentice as user type, provide basic details like name, date of birth, email, mobile number, create login credentials, log in after email verification, complete detailed profile with educational qualifications, upload scanned documents, select preferred trade or discipline and preferred locations, and submit the profile. After successful submission, candidates will receive a unique NATS registration number which should be noted down and mentioned in the application or biodata form. Candidates should carry a printout or screenshot of their NATS registration for verification during the walk-in.
