CSIR-NAL is a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and operates under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The laboratory is dedicated to aerospace research, development, and providing technological solutions for the nation's aerospace and defense sectors. This apprenticeship program offers a unique opportunity for ITI-qualified youth to gain hands-on training and practical experience in one of the most advanced aerospace research facilities in Asia. The 35 apprentice positions are available across various technical trades including Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Electrician, Welder, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, and other specialized trades relevant to aerospace manufacturing and maintenance operations. Selected apprentices will undergo structured training for a period of one year under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers, learning cutting-edge technologies used in aircraft design, manufacturing, testing, and maintenance. The training will cover both theoretical knowledge and practical skills development, with exposure to modern tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes used in the aerospace industry. Apprentices will receive a monthly stipend ranging from Rs. 9,600 to Rs. 10,560 depending on their trade qualification and year of passing as per the Apprentices Act rules and Government of India norms. This stipend is meant to support the apprentices during their training period and is revised periodically in accordance with government guidelines. The walk-in interview is scheduled for 4th and 5th February 2026 at the CSIR-NAL campus in Bangalore, where eligible candidates need to appear in person with all original certificates for document verification and interview. The age limit for this recruitment is 18 to 35 years, with relaxation for reserved categories as per government norms. Upon successful completion of the one-year apprenticeship training, candidates will be awarded a National Apprenticeship Certificate issued by the Government of India, which is recognized nationwide and significantly enhances employability in both public and private sector aerospace, defense, and manufacturing industries. While there is no guarantee of direct employment in CSIR-NAL after completion of apprenticeship, well-performing apprentices are given preference during regular recruitment drives conducted by CSIR-NAL or other CSIR laboratories. This apprenticeship is particularly valuable for ITI graduates who wish to gain specialized experience in aerospace technology, work with state-of-the-art equipment, and build a strong foundation for a career in India's growing aerospace and defense manufacturing sectors. CSIR-NAL provides world-class training infrastructure, safety equipment, and a professional work environment, making this apprenticeship one of the most sought-after training opportunities for technical trade aspirants in South India.
